MEREDITH SHAPIRO

Meredith’s design philosophy is that a home should feel collected, never decorated. It should reflect the client’s individual personality. Her design often marries a mix of traditional timelessness and fresh contemporary, incorporating a mix of antiques and art. Often her projects begin with only a few rooms and evolve into full home design and renovations. Meredith’s positive energy, combined with her attention to detail creates a unique working relationship with her clients, allowing her to create beautiful spaces with a deep understanding of their lifestyle and needs.

Meredith grew up in Seattle, and attended Indiana University, receiving dual degrees in Apparel Merchandising and Art History. Upon graduation, Meredith was recruited to Dallas to work for Neiman Marcus in their Executive Training Program. After many years at Neiman Marcus, Meredith went to work for Ralph Lauren in the Women’s Division in both their Dallas and New York offices. Having worked in the fashion world, Meredith decided to shift her creative focus into Interior Design, working as the Manager of Beacon Hill Showrooms. During this time she continued more formal studies of Interior Design at the Art Institute of Dallas.

In 2004, Meredith founded Meredith Shapiro Interiors, a high end residential firm working with discriminating clientele form the Park Cities area of Dallas. In late 2012, Meredith and her family relocated to Austin, TX. Meredith lives in Austin with her husband, Ken and her three children; Bennett, Hudson and Sophia.
